It's never too late to learn to animate

“Well I started my 100 Heads. I am a woman of some age who has never really managed light and shadow. My first love is a quite sparse but definite line. I also know that I am not going to manage 100 heads in 10 days. I will post some pen and ink drawings over the next week or so. Think of it as … quite a lot of heads in two or three weeks!”

What are you wiggling your fingers for?

“Exercising. Limbering up for drawing. I’m thinking of doing another challenge: Ahmed Aldoori’s – 100 Heads in 10 Days.”

Is that why you made a Pinterest board full of photo portraits? “You’ve been spying on me.” I am your long-dead mother, part of you and therefore know everything that you do, dear.

“Wonderful. Also a little creepy and embarassing.”

Look at us! We are all colourful again.

“I grew tired of black and white. Nothing seems black and white at the moment.”

“And I heard a rook singing. And I wanted to say so.” Rooks don’t sing. They just caw.

“No. They sing. A bit like a monkey calling and whooping from your chimney pot. I love to hear them.”

Are you making another loopy cartoon thing?

“The current LoopdeLoop challenge is “Window”. I’ve made a loop but I haven’t submitted it yet.”

Is that because it’s too angry? You said you had to do something with your anger.

“It’s a child doing a handstand near a window that opens and closes.”

Please tell me you slammed the window. “Not really”.
