Well … this time I mean Art Challenges. Instead of doing Inktober this year I am doing an Instagram challenge called “Stopmoctober” organised by Laura Biale. Here is a short animation that I made for the prompt “Piece of Art”.

I am doing another Domestika art course. This time it is a course by Swedish illustrator Mattias Adolfsson whose complex work has kept me fascinated … and laughing … for some years now. Very pleased to get the chance to learn from his insight on “The Art of Sketching: Transform your Doodles into Art”.
Above all this keeps me drawing every Lockdown day. And ironically is helping me overcome that dreadful “this is ART” feeling which descends upon me like a heavy, tight, Sunday Best hat.
This is a licence to play. Of course, having said that, I am already tearing my hair out.
“Tomorrow is the first day of Inktober 2020. A prompt a day for the 31 days of October. I’m hoping to stitch the challenge prompts into a story based around a character called Thaddeus Biskit.”
Are you sure? A story? Really?
“Yes, Mum! Let me introduce Mr Thaddeus Biskit and the love of his life Mavis.”
I think you’ll find that’s a lot of dots for the entire month of October, dear.
