It's never too late to learn to animate
February 2023 was the planned date for another Instagram challenge; a Story Book Challenge devised by Australian illustrator/artist Monty Lee. This time I was also invited to be part of the cohosting team. The book chosen by Monty was de Saint-Exupery’s “The Little Prince” which until then I had never read. Nor had I seen the 2015 full length animated film by Mark Osborne. And I decided not to watch it prior to making my own characters.
The seventh and final prompt for the 2022 Folktaleweek challenge on Instagram was “Victory”.
I had finished my story and turned the prompts into a fairy tale …… Though I hope for our sakes rewilding is not a complete fairy tale.
“The courtiers and the remaining birds and beasts spread the tree’s potion throughout the Kingdom. The Fool’s victory was the return of his tree and the greening of the land.”

The sixth prompt for the Folktaleweek 2022 challenge was “Potion”.
So my story continued with – “The Fool gathered up bits of his beloved tree and pounded them in a mortar. The courtiers – now their own characters without their costumes – watched. Then the Fool gave his instructions and handed out the potion.”
