  • I think I’ve had enough of all this talk of inner mothers. I’d like a nice cup of tea, please.  “But, Mum….”   If I had wanted to talk about my mother’s death, I would’ve done. Now…  I’d like a nice cup of tea. Please.

  • I ask Syb how she feels about her own interior mother… my grandmother. I never met Nana because she was killed during the Second World War and now I realise that this means that I don’t know which bit of Syb is Nana, so to speak. Syb doesn’t reply of course … because I never asked her this question…

  • Anyway how’s the mother going to feel when she realises that she’s only in her daughter’s head? I think it might come as a bit of a shock. Don’t you?

  • The problem is … they don’t know what their relationship is. I mean… they don’t know about the “inner parent” thing.

  • Never mind “mothers in heads”. That hat is definitely a mistake and I do know about hats, dear. Anway what has “the mother” got on its head? Looks like a crown. Who does she think she is? The Queen?
